Deputy Chief of Staff Resigns

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Aleksandre Kiknadze filed his resignation after being reprimanded following President Saakashvili’s recent surprise overnight inspection of one of the military units, the Georgian media sources reported on October 19.

Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili confirmed the report and told reporters on October 19 that Kiknadze was reprimanded for disciplinary reasons.
