Georgian security forces are carrying out an operation in Georgia’s north-western Pankisi gorge, local radio station Radio Way reported early morning today.
The Radio Way wrote that the operation started at approximately 4 am on December 26, with several dozen State Security Service officers deployed to the area.
The media outlet also reported that the security forces officers had detained three persons at the time of writing, allegedly on suspicion of their connections to the November 21-22 anti-terrorist operation in Tbilisi, which left three gunmen dead, including a senior ISIS member Ahmed Chatayev.
