The Alania TV station, which was silenced last week in the South Ossetian capital Tskhinvali, resumed broadcasting on January 15 after shifting to a new frequency.

The television broadcasted an interview by Jemal Karkusov, former Interior Minister and ex-Secretary of the National Security Council of the unrecognized republic on January 15.

Karkusov, who escaped from a Tskhinvali jail last November, reportedly with assistance from Georgian special service, accused South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity of “ignoring the interests” of the people of South Ossetia.
