Chief of Public Broadcaster Slammed for 'Mismanagement'

A group of employees from the public television station, including from the legal department, filed for resignation and accused Director-General of the television Tamar Kintsurashvili of, as they put it, “mismanagement and nepotism.”

MP Elene Tevdoradze, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Human Rights demanded on February 28 to convene the board of the Public Broadcaster to inform the parliamentarians about the recent situation surrounding the television station.

“Almost every week we hear that professionals are being sacked from the television station and others filing their resignations. And among these persons are those who were appointed by the Director-General herself,” MP Elene Tevdoradze, said at a parliamentary session on February 28.

Director-General Tamar Kintsurashvili has not yet made any comment.
