The Tbilisi City Court questioned on July 3 Gia Alania, a major suspect in Sandro Girgvliani murder case.

Gia Alania, ex-chief of the first unit of the Interior Ministry’s Department for the Constitutional Security, said that he and his three other colleagues (who are now suspects and are detained) took Girgvliani and his friend in outskirts of Tbilisi and beaten them up. But Alania said that Girgvliani was not beaten to death and he was alive when he left the scene.
