President Saakashvili will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in New York on the sideline of the UN summit on September 20, Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili told Georgian reporters in New York.

He said the two Presidents will discuss bilateral cooperation “with special focus on energy issues.”

“Iran is our neighbor and we should have good relations with this country, but on the other hand, we will clearly define our position regarding the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. In this latter issue we absolutely share the statement of U.S. President George Bush [made on September 19 at the UN General Assembly]” Bezhuashvili said.
