Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 27 Sep.'06 / 15:49

President Saakashvili said on September 26 that wanted warlord Emzar Kvitsiani has found shelter in Moscow and has been recording his video messages in a studio in the Russian capital.

In a video message aired on Georgian television on September 10 Kvitsiani warned that he plans to launch partisan warfare against government troops in Kodori Gorge.

“Kvitsiani’s statement sounded like a bad sign. We all know very well that Kvitsiani is in Moscow - we have evidence to prove it. Kvitsiani’s statement was recorded in a very high-quality studio in Moscow and we even know the address of this studio… If tomorrow Moscow stages a provocation, they [the Russian authorities] will say that Kvitsiani is behind it. Our society should know that we are undertaking very serious counter-intelligence measures to prevent provocations,” Saakashvili told reporters.
