Georgia was among the issues discussed during consultations in Washington on October 10-11 between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Daniel Fried, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on October 12.

“The Russian side stressed the necessity to increase international pressure on the present leadership of Georgia in order to fundamentally correct its policy regarding Abkhazia and South Ossetia and give up the dangerous course of fueling tensions,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
