Army Parade Marks Independence Day

15,500 servicemen, including 3,500 reservists, will march on Tbilisiā€™s Rustaveli Avenue on May 26 to mark Independence Day.

The Defense Ministry said the military parade would also include four newly purchased L-39 training and multi-purpose light attack aircraft and 120 KRAZ-type military trucks.

19 BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, as well as self-propelled cannons and four UH-1 Iroquois and 14 MI-8 multi-purpose helicopters; eight MI-24 attack helicopters; 10 SU-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft will also participate in the parade.
