Georgian, Turkmen Presidents Discuss Cooperation

President Saakashvili met his Turkmen counterpart, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, on the sidelines of an informal summit of leaders from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in St. Petersburg on June 10.
 
Economic cooperation issues topped the agenda, according to the Turkmen state news agency, TDH.

The two presidents also discussed the possibility of opening a Turkmen embassy in Tbilisi.

Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze visited Turkmenistan on June 6-7 and discussed energy issues with President Berdymukhammedov.
