President Saakashvili, who is in New York to attend a session of the UN General Assembly, will leave the United States for Greece, Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili told reporters on September 27.

Bezhuashvili, however, refused to comment on the arrest of former Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili, citing a lack of information.

Irakli Okruashvili, who was arrested late on September 27, is suspected of extortion, money laundering, misuse of power and criminal negligence.

President Saakashvili has yet to comment on the issue.
