New Faction Set up in Parliament

Ten lawmakers have announced about setting up of a new parliamentary faction - Our Georgia. Mainly independent parliamentarians, elected in the single-mandate constituencies have formed the faction.

MP Valeri Gelbakhiani, the chairman of the faction, said on October 19 the group would mainly focus on economic and agricultural issues. He also said that the new faction shares those principles outlined by a group of ten opposition parties in a joint manifesto.

The new faction also involves lawmakers Gocha Jojua, Giorgi Tsulaia, Valerian Izoria, Viktor Japaridze, Levan Gzirishvili, Merab Khurtsidze (former member of the ruling party), Arsen Mgeladze and Temur Dolishvili (the Labor Party).
