Public TV General-Director Tamar Kintsurashvili said on February 14 that she would not resign until a new board of trustees was composed at the end of this month. Kintsurashvili’s immediate resignation has been one of the preconditions put forth by the nine-party opposition coalition for the continuation of talks with the authorities. “I will resign as soon as a new board of trustees of the Georgian Public Broadcaster is elected by Parliament,” Kintsurashvili told journalist. “I have been closely watching political developments and I do not want to be the cause of a further escalation in political tension.” She also said that she “probably” would not re-apply for the position. |
