Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze has confirmed meeting with Inna Gudavadze, the widow of Badri Patarkatsishvili, but denied discussing Imedi TV. Patarkatsishvili's widow said on March 19 that the Georgian government was trying to take over Imedi TV station with the help of “imposters.” She said in a written statement that she had tried to negotiate the issue with the authorities, including with Burjanadze, but “I still do not have an answer.” “I have met with Mrs. Gudavadze. She asked me to meet her and naturally I agreed… She raised some issues, but all I did was name particular people capable of answering her questions and as far as I know she got in touch with them,” Burjanadze told journalists on March 20. She gave no further details. |
