Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 31 Mar.'08 / 15:25

Russia and Georgia have “actually agreed on everything” in relation to Russia’s WTO membership, President Saakashvili said in an interview with the Russian daily Kommersant, published on March 31.

He said that Georgia had received a letter from the Russian Ministry of Economy expressing Moscow’s readiness to open a joint customs checkpoint at the border with breakaway South Ossetia.

In his previous statements about the matter, Saakashvili was also saying that Russia was also ready to open similar joint customs checkpoints at the border with the breakaway Abkhazia. In the interview Saakashvili, however, only spoke about joint Russo-Georgian border crossing point in South Ossetia without mentioning Abkhazia.
