EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana is concerned about Russia’s decision to establish official links with breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Solana’s spokeswoman, Christina Gallach, said on April 16, AFP and Deutsche Welle reported.

“We are concerned about these unilateral decisions, we have always supported Georgia's territorial integrity,” she said. "We have always believed that this type of conflict must be resolved through dialogue."

She also said that President Saakashvili had phoned Solana to express his own concern.
