Abkhaz deputy defense minister, Gari Kupalba, has claimed that the Georgian unmanned reconnaissance drone, downed over the Ochamchire district of breakaway region on May 8, carried air-to-air missile.

“The ammunition it was carrying represented danger for both civilians and peacekeeping troops,” Interfax news agency reported quoted Kupalba, as saying on May 9.

The Georgian side has strongly denied that its drone was at all shot down. Sokhumi said that the May 8 downing was fifth in less than two months. Tbilisi has confirmed only one case that occurred on April 20.
