Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 26 May.'08 / 17:25

The Russian side has again denied having any link to the downing of the Georgian reconnaissance drone over Abkhazia on April 20.

UN observers, who have investigated the incident, said in a conclusion released on May 26, that the drone was shot down by a fighter jet “which belonged to the Russian air forces.”

“It is even pointless to speak about violation of the Georgian state border and especially about downing of the Georgian unmanned aerial vehicle,” Russian air force spokesman, Alexander Drobishevsky, told Interfax news agency on May 26.
