Five Injured in Blast in Tskhinvali

Five South Ossetian militiamen were injured as a result of blast that occurred in the breakaway region’s capital Tskhinvali early on May 29, the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee reported.

A vehicle parked outside headquarters of the breakaway South Ossetian special purpose unit of interior ministry exploded in what the authorities in breakaway region said was “a terrorist act.” The blast occurred at 8:50am local time, it said.

Earlier the South Ossetian side said four were injured as a result of the blast.

“It is a terrorist act organized by the Georgian secret services,” the breakaway region’s interior ministry said.
