A car belonging to Irakli Rukhadze, the chief executive of Salford Georgia, exploded in downtown Tbilisi on June 24. No one was injured.

Rukhadze was not in the car, parked on Leselidze Street, when the explosion occurred. The blast damaged the car’s rear. There were no signs of flames after the explosion.

Shota Khizanishvili, an Interior Ministry spokesman, told Civil.Ge that investigators were now trying to ascertain whether an explosive device was to blame.

Later it was reported that the law enforcement agencies had initiated a criminal case involving “deliberate damage of property.”
