The Russian Foreign Ministry said on August 7 it was concerned over Georgian actions in South Ossetia, condemning them as “military preparations.” It said in a press release that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin had spoken with South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity on the phone on August 6. “[Their] assessments of the tense situation in the conflict zone coincide,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said. |
