Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 27 Aug.'08 / 20:17

Georgia has decided “to minimize” its diplomatic relations with Russia following the Russian recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Nino Kalandadze, the Georgian deputy foreign minister, told journalists on August 27.

Georgia will be represented in Russia by two diplomats – the acting ambassador and an advisor, she said.

Georgia recalled its ambassador, Erosi Kitsmarishvili, from Russia on July 10 after Moscow admitted its aircraft had violated Georgian airspace.
