Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 23 Jan.'09 / 19:12

President Saakashvili said that “unfortunately the Public Defender’s Office has become politicized” and Public Defender Sozar Subari’s reports on human rights record in the country had nothing common with human rights.

Speaking in a televised question and answer session with the public, Saakashvili said that Subari had turned into “a politician, who plans to go into politics and to wave a flag.”

“Unfortunately the Public Defender’s Office has distanced from protecting of human rights,” he said.
