U.S. Vice President Joe Biden held a phone conversation with President Saakashvili on November 18 to discuss democratic reforms in Georgia and to reiterate the United States’ “strong support” for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the White House reported.

“The Vice President underscored the importance of sustaining the commitment to democratic reform to fulfill the promise of the Rose Revolution,” the White House said.

It also said that Biden “emphasized that all parties should live up to their August 12th and September 8th ceasefire commitments and avoid destabilizing actions.”

Earlier on November 19 the Georgian Foreign Ministry also reported that President Saakashvili discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation in frames of U.S.-Georgia Charter on Strategic Partnership and situation in Georgia’s breakaway regions during a phone conversation with Joe Biden.
