MIA: Ex-Security Chief Murder Suspect Arrested

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said the murder case of Tamaz Ninua, who for few months served as security minister under late President Gamsakhurdia, and his wife “has been solved.”

It said in a brief statement without going into details that the police arrested a man suspected in the murder. 

Ninua and his wife were found dead with gunshot wounds in their home in Tbilisi on November 13.

Ninua served in the security and interior ministry structures, including on some senior positions, throughout 90s and retired in early 2000s.
