Storm Runs Ship Aground in Sokhumi

A Turkish tanker, MAG-1, was pushed by storm onto a bank off the port of Sokhumi early on Monday, an Abkhaz news agency, Apsnipress, said.

The tanker was carrying over 100 tonnes of fuel, the Russian news agency, Interfax, reported.

But Apsnipress reported that the tanker was not carrying any cargo and there was no fuel leakage.

Seven crew members were rescued and no one was injured, according to the Abkhaz news agency.
