Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 4 Jan.'10 / 23:28

Georgian Airways will conduct charter flights to Moscow on January 8, 9 and 10, the Georgian air carrier said on Monday.

A spokesperson of the Georgian Airways, Nino Giorgobiani, said the Russian transportation authorities gave the permission to conduct flights late on December 31. She said that the air carrier was also seeking for permission to conduct charter flights on January 16, 20 and 22 as well.

She also said that the company hoped the Georgia and Russian authorities would negotiate resumption of regular direct flights between the two countries.

Russia cut direct air flights with Georgia in October, 2006, following spy row between the two countries. The flights were restored for several months in 2008 and cut again after the August war.
