Due to increase in budgetary revenues, additional funds, not envisaged in year’s start, became available for local self-governance bodies in the provinces, which should not be used for launch of new projects, Zurab Kharatishvili, the chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC), said on May 10.

He warned the local authorities that use of these funds for launch of new initiatives would be a violation of election code, which bans such move in a pre-election period and it would be considered as an abuse of administrative resources by the authorities.
