Pre-Election Media Monitoring
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 23 May.'10 / 15:22

Kavkasia TV has allocated more airtime to Tbilisi mayoral candidates and parties in its main news bulletins and selected talk shows, then other five TV channels being monitored in a pre-election period in frames of project supported by EU Delegation to Georgia and UN Development Programme (UNDP).

Kavkasia TV is followed by another Tbilisi-based TV station, Maestro, whose area of coverage, like the one of Kavkasia TV, is also mainly the capital city. National broadcasters follow Kavkasia and Maestro TVs, in particular the public broadcaster's First Channel, Imedi TV and Rustavi. Tbilisi-based Real TV allocated the least airtime to candidates and parties.

The third report in series of weekly summaries of results of monitoring, carried out by Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC), covers a period between May 13 and May 19.
