Philip Dimitrov, who briefly was Bulgaria’s PM in 1991, was selected by EU’s foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, as new ambassador of EU to Georgia

Dimitrov served as Bulgaria’s ambassador to the UN in 1997-98 and then as ambassador to the United States in 1998-2002.
