President Saakashvili met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in New York on sideline of the UN General Assembly, the Georgian President’s administration said on September 24.

It said that during the meeting, which was “held upon the American side’s initiative,” Saakashvili and Clinton discussed “issue of moving to the new stage of strategic partnership charter.”

“The Georgian representatives have also voiced some new initiatives, involving deepening bilateral cooperation in economic, education and healthcare spheres,” the Georgian President’s administration said.
