Reports: Moscow Says No Plans to Talk with Saakashvili
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 23 Nov.'10 / 18:09

Russia has no plans to talk with the present leadership of Georgia, Russia’s Interfax news agency reported quoting an unnamed source from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The report appeared shortly after President Saakashvili said in his address to the European Parliament on November 23 that he was ready for “deep and comprehensive” talks with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

“We have nothing to talk about with the present leadership of Georgia,” the source was quoted, adding that Moscow had not received any official proposal from Tbilisi.

Russia’s senior officials, including President Medvedev and PM Vladimir Putin, have stated for number of times in the past that Moscow would not enter into any negotiations with Saakashvili.
