Maxim Gvinjia, breakaway Abkhazia’s foreign minister, said Sokhumi was “suspicious” and “cautious” about President Saakashvili’s recent unilateral declaration of non-use of force.

“We are not enthusiastic about Saakashvili’s recent statement,” Gvinjia told Sokhumi-based Abaza TV on November 24.

“We’re still suspicious of what he is saying, because for the eighteen years of its independence, Georgia has never shown positive intentions towards Abkhazia.”

“We’ll be very cautious and careful, and we will test Saakashvili’s words based on his concrete actions,” he added.
