Ambassadors to Armenia, Mexico, Brazil Approved

The Parliament approved on December 7 new ambassadors to Armenia, Mexico and Brazil.  

Tengiz Sharmanashvili, the secretary of the state constitutional commission and member of the National-Democratic Party, was approved as Georgian ambassador to Armenia.

Malkhaz Mikeladze was approved as Georgian ambassador to Mexico. Most recently he worked as Georgia’s envoy to the United States. Previously, he had also served in foreign intelligence service.

Otar Berdzenishvili, head of the department for the Americas at the Foreign Ministry, became Georgia’s ambassador to Brazil.

These new ambassadorial appointments are part of a larger reshuffle of diplomatic corps announced last week. The lawmakers will vote for other ambassadorial nominations later this week.
