FSB Official: Tbilisi Aims at Thwarting Sochi Olympics

Head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Russia's Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia in the northwest of North Caucasus region, said on December 16, that Georgia was trying to destabilize situation in the border areas with Russia, Interfax news agency reported.

"Georgian special services' activities are first of all directed towards thwarting Olympic [Games] in Sochi. But what is the most important, we are observing facts, when the special services are counting on carrying out subversive acts on our territory," Interfax quoted  Valery Ostrovetsky, the head of FSB in Karachay-Cherkessia.
