Deadline for expressing interest in buying the state-owned Georgian Post has been extended from December 20 to January 15, Economy Ministry’s spokesman for privatization issues, Giorgi Kalandadze, said.

He told Civil.ge on December 20 that the deadline was extended in order “to receive more interesting bids.” He declined to elaborate on existing bids if any.

The Georgian Economy Ministry announced about the plans to privatize the Georgian Post, which provides postal, courier, money transfer services, on October 27.
