Georgia established diplomatic and consular relations with the Republic of Somalia on January 26, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported. Georgia’s UN ambassador, Alexander Lomaia, signed a joint communiqué with his counterpart from Somalia, Elmi Ahmed Duale based on the principles of friendly relations, national sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-violability of state borders, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said. Somalia became the 24th country with which Georgia established diplomatic relations over the past year.
