Georgia and Qatar signed on February 15 air transport agreement based on ‘open skies’ principle allowing unrestricted number of flights between the two countries.

The agreement was signed during Georgian Economy Minister Vera Kobalia’s visit to Qatar, which came less than a week before Georgian Foreign Minister, Girgol Vashadze, pays first official visit to Qatar on February 20-21.

“We are hoping to see Qatar Airways flights by the year-end,” Georgian Economy Minister, Vera Kobalia, told Gulf Times.

In separate comments, Kobalia said that she had discussed investment opportunities in Georgia during a meeting with Economy and Finance Minister of Qatar Youssuf Hussein Kamal.
