Swedish FM Visits Georgia

Foreign Minister of Sweden, Carl Bildt, visits Georgia on March 31 meeting with the country’s leadership and inaugurating Swedish embassy in Tbilisi.

“Heading to Tbilisi to open new Swedish Embassy there. Important region,” he posted on his Twitter page.

The Swedish Foreign Minister met with Deputy Foreign Minister, Tornike Gordadze, who is Georgia’s chief negotiator on Association Agreement with EU.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that “priorities of Georgia-EU cooperation” was discussed with focus made on Association Agreement, EU’s Eastern Partnership and issues related with deep and comprehensive free trade agreement.

The Swedish Foreign Minister met with President Saakashvili over diner on Thursday evening.
