Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 10 Apr.'11 / 13:30

President Saakashvili said on April 9, that Georgia should be a model for other countries in the region by becoming “fully clean of corruption”; “clean of crime” and “an ecologically clean country.”

He said that through this path of, as he put it, “three cleans,” Georgia would create an “absolutely new model of the country, which will be an example for others in the region.”

“Georgia should be fully clean of corruption and today I can say that this is actually already achieved – Georgia is clean of corruption and many other countries around us cannot even dream about it,” Saakashvili said while speaking to a group of students at his residence in Tbilisi.

“In the second place, Georgia should be clean of crime,” Saakashvili said, adding that Georgia had had much success in this direction as well by becoming one of the safest countries in Europe.

He also said that “probably this year” a construction of a major hydro power plant of Khudoni would start in high mountainous region of Svaneti, which would “require resettlement of couple of village.”
