During the Swiss-mediated talks in Switzerland on April 29 on Russia’s WTO entry terms, the Georgian and Russian negotiators agreed to hold next round of meeting in late May, Niko Mchedlishvili, the Georgian government’s spokesman, told Civil.ge.

PM's senior aide, Tamar Kovziridze, who is Georgian chief negotiator, said after the meeting that the talks had moved into the phase of substantive discussions.

"Georgia's demands remain unchanged; it concerns creation of a such mechanism on the border-crossing points, which would enable a joint monitoring of movement of goods," Kovziridze told RFE/RL Georgian service after the talks.

Georgian officials decline to elaborate details of the talks, citing a deal with the Russian side not to speak to media about ongoing negotiations.
