Vashadze Meets Swedish FM

During the visit to Sweden Georgian Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze, met his Swedish counterpart, Carl Bildt, on May 16.

“Situation in occupied territories, those terrorist acts, which the Russian Federation was plotting and implementing on the Georgian territory, human rights abuses which represent daily practice in the occupied territories” were discussed during the meeting, Vashadze said.

The Swedish Foreign Minister said that situation in the region and Georgia’s relations with EU were discussed.

“Relations between Sweden and Georgia are excellent,” Carl Bildt wrote on his blog on May 16 and in a separate post on his Twitter he said: “We want to support their [Georgia’s] continued European reforms - and territorial integrity.”
