Next round of the Swiss-mediated talks between Russia and Georgia over Moscow’s WTO entry terms, originally scheduled for June 2, has been postponed because of “technical reasons,” Niko Mchedlishvili, the Georgian government’s spokesman, told Civil.ge on May 31.

He said that the next round of talks was postponed upon the request of Switzerland, which acts as a mediator between Russia and Georgia as diplomatic ties remain cut between the two countries.

The sides have yet to agree the new date of talks.

Swiss President and Foreign Minister, Micheline Calmy-Rey, who visited Tbilisi on May 29-30, among other issues, also discussed at a meeting with Georgian PM Nika Gilauri “Russia’s possible accession to WTO,” according to the Georgian government’s press office.
