The Georgian Embassy in Ukraine said it had sacked a security guard, who attacked participants of topless protest by Ukrainian female movement, Femen, and a photographer covering the event.

The embassy said in a statement that it “deplores the incident.”

“The Georgian Embassy wishes to apologize to all concerned - those who attended the gathering, journalists and the Ukrainian people - for this deplorable incident, and, in addition, wishes to state that the guard in question has been dismissed from his post,” the statement reads.

When three bare-breasted young women from Femen were protesting outside the Georgian embassy in Kiev over the arrest of photojournalists in Georgia, a man, who walked out from the embassy, slapped one of the demonstrators and kicked and punched a photographer covering the event.

Activists from Femen, the movement which drew much of public attention with series of topless protests, were carrying mocked up guns with mocked up photo cameras instead of barrel in a protest action dubbed as “photo hunting”, parodying charges brought against photographers arrested in Georgia and accused for spying for Russia.
