Tskhinvali Sets Election Date
Civil Georgia, Tbilisi / 17 Aug.'11 / 11:10

Breakaway South Ossetia will hold presidential election on November 13, according to a draft decision endorsed by senior lawmakers in Tskhinvali on Tuesday.

The decision will receive final approval by the breakaway region’s parliament on Wednesday.

South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity has no right to run for the third term.

This date for presidential election was expected after it was announced last week that the breakaway region will hold a referendum on November 13 on whether or not to make Russian, together with the Ossetian, the official language.
