Foreign Minister of Estonia, Urmas Paet, started a two-day visit to Georgia on Tuesday with a meeting with Secretary of National Security Council Giga Bokeria.

Paet discussed “the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories” and reiterated his country’s support to Georgia’s territorial integrity, the Estonian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The Estonian Foreign Minister stressed importance of EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia and noted the need for EU monitors to be given access to the breakaway regions.

During the visit the Estonian Foreign Minister will also meet his Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze and President Saakashvili.

The Estonian Foreign Ministry said on Monday, that Paet would discuss EU-Georgia cooperation, including in frames of Eastern Partnership initiative. Ahead of the visit the Estonian Foreign Ministry reiterated his country's supports to Georgia’s EU integration and said that focusing on reforms would be an essential factor on Georgia's path towards the European integration.

“We encourage Georgia to continue carrying out reforms and strengthening its civil society,” the Estonian Foreign Minister said.
