Agriculture Minister, Bakur Kvezereli, was replaced by governor of Samegrelo region, Zaza Gorozia, PM Nika Gilauri said on October 20.

PM Gilauri thanked Kvezereli, who held the Agriculture Minister’s post since 2008, for his work, but added: “We think that new vision and new energy is needed” in the agriculture sector.

“Bakur [Kvezereli] remains our team member and he will continue working with us,” PM Gilauri said, but added that it was not yet decided where Kvezereli would continue working.

The new Agriculture Minister Gorozia held the post of governor of western Georgian region of Samegrelo since 2005.
