The U.S. Department of State said Washington "applauds the announcement" that Russia and Georgia have agreed "on an arrangement for monitoring trade between their two countries" in the Swiss-mediated WTO talks.

"We would like to highlight the outstanding assistance provided by the Government of Switzerland, which has helped the parties develop and finalize this agreement," the Department of State said in a statement on November 5.
