Georgian FM Meets Turkmen President

Georgian Foreign Minister, Grigol Vashadze, met in Ashgabat on January 19 with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

President Berdimuhamedov noted "progressive nature" of relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia, which "have gained new dynamic in recent years" and told the Georgian Foreign Minister that "time has come to move on new stage of bilateral relations," the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reported.

It reported that cooperation in energy sector and economy were among the priority areas discussed during "a business-like and constructive" meeting.
