The United States reiterates its support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and “does not recognize the legitimacy of the de facto ‘parliamentary’ elections held in the Abkhazia region of Georgia on March 10,” the U.S. embassy in Tbilisi said.

“We urge Russia to fulfill all of its obligations under the 2008 ceasefire agreement, including withdrawal of forces to pre-conflict positions and free access for humanitarian assistance to Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” the U.S. embassy said in a statement.
